Our financial planning services, will be provided on a ‘fee for service’ basis. Foundation Capital will not receive or accept commissions or brokerage, except in respect of risk insurances (and then only with the agreement of the client).
In respect of investment sourcing and underwriting venture capital, Foundation Management’s senior management team is responsible for all aspects of the investment cycle. The team identifies investment opportunities, undertakes due diligence and then, if approved, finalises the investments. Once the investment has been made, the management team works closely with investee companies, monitoring performance and providing expertise and advice when required

Gavin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1975, after completing a Commerce Degree at UWA. He has been a Financial Planner for over 22 years. He has previous owned and operated his own financial planning practice, and more recently, he was a partner of a large financial planning practice. Prior to financial planning, he was a Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of three electronics companies; a leading broadland farmer; agricultural diploma lecturer; auditor and then tax accountant.
Over the past five years, Gavin has engaged in charitable activities, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Black Dog Ride Australia Limited, and is the Treasurer and Immediate Past President of the Lions Club of Claremont Nedlands. Gavin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, with the designation of Financial Planning Specialist and has a Diploma of Financial Planning.

Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, beginning his career as a founding partner of Sothertons, Chartered Accountants. Ian founded Foundation Capital (now Foundation Management (WA) Pty Ltd) in 1994. He has a wide experience in the development and funding of technology based companies as a director, manager, investor and consultant. Ian is a major shareholder and the Managing Director of Foundation Management (WA) Pty Ltd., trading as Foundation Capital Investment and Advisory. Ian is also a Non-Executive Director of listed company AssetOwl Limited, and is Chairman of Directors of Primary Securities Ltd.
B.A. (Economics, Hons), MBA / Investment Director
Yehuda joined Foundation Capital (now Foundation Management (WA) Pty Ltd) in 2003, and is currently responsible for managing Foundation’s Expansion/MBO portfolio. Yehuda began his career in New York at American International Group, the largest commercial insurer in the US, where he managed a product development department. After obtaining an MBA from Columbia University, he spent several years in management consulting with Bain & Company in Sydney, and Poynton & Partners in Perth, working alongside senior management of ASX 100 companies, assisting them in solving complex business issues facing their organisations.
Yehuda is a Director of Kailis and France Foods, Worldwide Online Printing and Croissant Express, and has held Directorships at Benchmark Debtor Finance, G1 Holdings Australia (Europcar) and ImpulseLogic.
BComm / Investment Analyst
James has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Curtin University and 10 years of experience in Banking and Corporate Finance. He commenced his career as a Relationship Manager in the Institutional Banking and Markets department of at Commonwealth Bank and has since spent several years working abroad with both large corporate and SME clients globally including London, Nairobi and Sydney. James has worked on transactions and advisory mandates ranging from seed funding for start ups through to syndicated debt facilities and multi-asset portfolios.
