Rob Newman: B Eng (Hons), Ph.D.
Investment Director

Rob has more than 15 years experience as an entrepreneur in Australia and Silicon Valley. Throughout his career Rob has played a leadership role in building successful technology businesses. Highlights include being the Founding CEO of Atmosphere Networks (optical networking) to Ditech for US$123 million, and co-founding QPSX Communications, an early leader in the carrier packet switching equipment market.

Matt Callahan: LLB (Hons) MBA
Investment Manager

Matt is an experienced entrepreneur with experience in Australia and the United States. He has founded a number of venture capital backed companies including Xelor Software and iCeutica Inc and has successfully transitioned businesses to and raised capital in the US. A former lawyer with international experience particularly in intellectual property and corporate law, Matt was also the General Manager of a listed technology commercialization company based in Australia.

Yehuda Cohen: B.A. (Economics, Hons), MBA
Investment Director

Yehuda joined Foundation Capital in 2003 and is currently responsible for managing Foundation's Expansion/MBO portfolio. Yehuda began his career in New York at American International Group, the largest commercial insurer in the US, where he managed a product development department. After obtaining an MBA from Columbia University, he spent several years in management consulting with Bain & Company in Sydney and Poynton & Partners in Perth working alongside senior management of ASX 100 companies, assisting them in solving complex business issues facing their organisations.

Yehuda is a Director of Kailis and France Foods, Worldwide Online Printing and Croissant Express and has held Directorships at Benchmark Debtor Finance, G1 Holdings Australia (Europcar) and ImpulseLogic.

The executive team is supported by an experienced group of investment managers, analysts and consultants.

Non-Executive Chairman

Gordon Martin is one of the three founders of Foundation Capital. Gordon is a non-executive chairman and majority owner of Coogee Chemicals. Gordon has extensive experience in venture capital in a diverse number of industry sectors. He is also a non-executive director of Burswood Ltd, United Group Ltd and a former State and National Vice President of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ian Murchison: B Comm, FCA, Dip Naut Sc
Non Executive Director

Ian founded Foundation Capital in 1994. He has wide experience in the development and funding of technology based companies as a director, manager, investor and consultant. A chartered accountant, Ian is a major shareholder and Managing Director of Foundation Management Pty Ltd (WA) - Foundation Capital's management company.

Peter Harley: B. Comm, FCPA, FAICD
Director

Peter was a director of smart card and transit systems supplier ERG Ltd from 1986 to 1996. Since leaving ERG, Peter has carried out a number of assignments on behalf of a range of industrial and technology companies. He is also Chairman of of the Co-operative Research Centre for Australian Telecommunications and a non-executive director of iiNet Ltd.
